How Mortons Air Duct Brooklyn Was Born in Brooklyn

We brought Morton’s Air Duct Cleaning to Brooklyn because this borough deserved the kind of care our brand was built on. The Cedarwell family created the company around a simple promise: clean ducts, clean air, clean floors after. When the opportunity came to open a location here, Paul Adeyemi knew Brooklyn was the right place. Not because it was easy, but because it was home.

Paul grew up watching families in this city deal with the same frustration year after year. A technician would show up late, do half a job, leave dust on the furniture, and hand over an invoice that looked nothing like the original quote. The worst part was watching a neighbor in Flatbush hand over a check for work that never actually happened. That stuck with Paul for years. When Morton’s asked him to lead the Brooklyn location, he knew exactly what he would build here: a team that followed the Cedarwell Care Promise on every single job, wrote the price down before any work started, and treated every home like it belonged to someone they loved.

Paul Adeyemi’s Personal Connection to the Air Duct Cleaning Trade

Paul got into this work the way a lot of people do: by being the one who couldn’t ignore a problem. Years ago, in a walk-up apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant, his own place started to smell stale every time the heat kicked on. Dust gathered on the windowsills two days after he wiped them. His daughter, then four, would wake up sniffly in the morning. He called a company, paid a low advertised price, and watched a technician poke a vacuum wand into two vents for twenty minutes and leave. The smell came back within a week.

That was the moment Paul decided to learn the trade himself. He spent years in the field with the skilled tradesmen who trained him, the ones who showed him that real duct cleaning means getting into the trunk line, not just waving a wand at a register. The first time he pulled a clog of dust and pet hair out of a return duct in a Canarsie home, he remembers the smell of it: warm, stale, like an old basement. He also remembers what the air felt like after the system was cleaned, that first cold rush through the vents when the AC kicked back on. That feeling is what got him out of bed then, and it’s what gets him out of bed now.

If Paul weren’t doing this, he’d probably still be working somewhere with his hands. But he wouldn’t have the same satisfaction. There’s something honest about this work. You can see the problem, you can fix it, and you can show the homeowner the proof when you’re done. That transparency matters to him. He’s been doing this long enough to know that the people who care about the details are the ones who last in this trade, and the ones who take shortcuts are the ones who make the rest of us look bad.

Meet Paul Adeyemi – The Person Behind Every Job

Paul Adeyemi is the Owner & Founder of the Brooklyn location. He came up through the field, learning this work from the inside out, and he still approaches every job with the eyes of someone who once stood in the customer’s shoes. He’s not a corporate franchise technician flown in for a week. He’s a neighbor. He knows that the damp air off the East River affects homes in Canarsie differently than the radiators in a prewar Flatbush building, and he knows this because he’s lived here.

When Paul’s not working, you’ll find him walking through Prospect Park with his family, or tinkering with something mechanical that doesn’t strictly need fixing. He’s the kind of person who reads the instructions, measures twice, and picks up after himself. That’s not a slogan. That’s who he is. His commitment to every customer is direct: if the work isn’t done right, it isn’t done. And if we make a mess, we clean it up before we leave.

Our Promise to Brooklyn Homeowners

Every job we do follows the Cedarwell Care Promise, and the promise is built on four values we call C.A.R.E. Clean up like it is our own home: shoe covers on, drop cloths down, and a photo of the clean-up taken before we walk out. Ask before we move or touch anything: your furniture, your kid’s toys, your pet’s bed are all handled with permission, never assumed. Respect the family’s time and quiet hours: if the baby’s napping, we work around it. Explain the price before the work: every customer gets a written price in advance. Always. That’s the promise the Cedarwell family built this brand on, and it’s the one we keep in Brooklyn.

Our Credentials

Our standing in Brooklyn is built on requirements and reputation, not marketing copy.

  • Licensed as required: Every pro working under the Morton’s name in Brooklyn is required to hold the licensing the state of New York mandates for this trade. We don’t cut corners on paperwork, and we won’t send anyone into your home who hasn’t met the bar.
  • Insured & bonded: Insurance and bonding are required of the team before they ever walk through your door. That protects you and your home while work is underway.
  • Years of local experience: Paul and the team have been working in Brooklyn homes for years. That’s not a badge, it’s just what long hours and repeat customers look like from the inside.
  • Strong local reputation: We’ve built trust the slow way, one clean system at a time, across neighborhoods from Bushwick to Borough Park.

Why does this matter to a homeowner? Because you’re inviting someone into your house, around your family, your pets, and your things. Knowing that the person at the door is licensed, insured, and accountable to a brand promise means you can relax while the work gets done.

Rooted in Brooklyn

This is our borough. We work in the brownstones of Bedford-Stuyvesant and the co-ops of Forest Hills, in Astoria apartment buildings and Elmhurst multi-families, from the tree-lined streets of Maspeth to the busy avenues of Midtown Manhattan. We know how many layers of paint are on the radiators in a prewar Flatbush apartment. We know the dust that settles into a Bushwick row house when the windows are open all summer. Brooklyn isn’t a service area on a map to us; it’s the place where we raise our kids, walk our dog, and shop for groceries. That’s why the Cedarwell Care Promise isn’t a nice-to-have here. It’s the only way we’d want to operate in our own neighborhood.
